On August 12th, Culture Shock Releasing will host a merch popup at Rendezvous LA, a Los Angeles-based DJ collective and music curator group. Rendezvous LA specializes in original soundtracks, library cues, and film scores. Rendezvous LA event and popup takes place from 6 to 10 pm at Footsies Bar, located at 2640 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, 90065. We will be bringing some exclusive merchandise as well as the films we distribute on blu-ray and VHS! Joining the event is Spacetoonz, a friend and collaborator who will have a dj set.

On August 29th, Culture Shock continues the excitement with the monthly installment of Culture Shock Presents at Beer Zombies (831. W Bonanza Ave.) in Las Vegas. This month’s feature is Video Murders (1988), a film that combines elements of true crime and psychological thriller genres. VideoMurders was filmed on location in Louisiana and directed by Jim McCullough Sr., known for Mountaintop Motel Massacre. Shot on 16mm film, it captures a gritty, authentic feel reminiscent of shows like Unsolved Mysteries and Hitchcock's Psycho. The screening starts at 8 pm, with Spacetoonz DJing the pre screening to set the mood and Ritual and Rye Books as this month's vendor.

For those who missed last month’s screening of Mr. Ice Cream Man, there is good news. The film, shot on video in Las Vegas, is moving into the authoring phase this month for it's blu-ray debut. It is expected to be released early next month, along with several other titles previously announced. We are also also planning represses of some popular titles. We hope you can make it to one of these events and if you do, come by and say hello!

If you read this until the end, here's a sneak peak at the new Blu-Ray slipcover art that was done by Justin T Coons!
